Loft Bedroom Before

Guys, less than two weeks till we move to our new loft, which I’m calling the Lair, check out the tour. I couldn’t be more excited but there is so much to do. I’m busy with my day job work, working my way through my editing schedule, add cleaning, packing, and planning out the loft on top of that and life is flying by a mile a minute. So Grant and I took some time off to recuperate and relax. We are also celebrating, what I’m calling our annibirthery. Our anniversary and my birthday are days apart, so we make a big thing out of it.  All this means is that I now have some time to share my bedroom plan with ya’ll.

First, this room is tiny, not surprising as our loft unit is the smallest one in the building, which brings me to one of the big themes of the loft, coziness. I’ve decided to embrace the size and make sure the small space is not only functional but feels warm and comfortable, i.e. cozy.  I want to do this with texture bringing in lots of blankets, velvet pillows, and natural wood elements, the floors will help a lot with this.

The wall with the ladder is the first on you see when you walk into the bedroom. I’m thinking blankets on the ladder but other than that I have few ideas. Maybe I’ll add some type of art. The wall to the left is the one the bed will sit on. I want to hang a couple of pictures from the picture rail, and definitely one or two hanging air plants.  My last place (known here as HQ) lacked greenery and since it is the color of the year it is a most for the Lair.  I want a pretty basic layout for the room,  bed with two nightstands. I’m hoping one nightstand will be wood and the other some type of metal, we’ll see.

The wall to the right of the ladder wall is the one with the sliding door. The door leads to our closet, I’ll describe the closet as functional, also it has really cute tile in it. The right corner of that wall is my get ready area. I have this hella cute mirror that doubles as jewelry cabinet I want to paint it something striking. I also have a couple of other diys plan for this corner so look out for those.

The theme for the loft is cool, cozy, and contemporary. I’m not completely sold on contemporary but as I stated in my initial tour post, this our first place so I have to make sure his more contemporary style is present in the space. More on my experiments in blending styles later.  In the mean time, I’m not buying anything for the space quite yet. I want to get everything in see what works, what fits, donate/sell what doesn’t and see what space needs, after all, that is done. I’ll be doing one of these for every room, I’m thinking dining room next thoughts?

  1. Different problems is when you have a situation where you will not have a co-signer then you might genuinely wish to try to wear out your entire educational funding alternatives. You’ll find many funds and also other scholarships or grants that will give you funds that can help along with school expenditures. Many thanks for the submit.
