Hey ya’ll, long time no check in. Sorry about that so much has happened since I last posted. Good and not so good things, and I’m ready to share it them all with you. So what’s new?
Well first We got a new place, hence no updates on my rental redo series. I’ve put the brakes on finishing up my current apartment and instead will be in sharing all the updates, decor plans, and diys for the new spot. check out pictures above. My current apartment was my first one solo and will always be my HQ. I will take all that I’ll learn living here and use that to make my new place the cool, cozy, oasis that I need in my life right now.
A bit about the place, it’s a loft. I feel like I’m in an episode of basically any 90’s tv show, #singlelivingvibes. It’s right in the heart of downtown, on the Main St. over one of the best restaurants in town, plus a ton of cute little cafes, I’m really excited to write in. The owner does ministry in Uganda and is the sweetest guy ever. I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon this place. Looking finding a good rental? The best piece of advice I can give is to be ready to jump when you find the perfect spot. It’s great to window shop, but when you’re serious bring your checkbooks, references, and rental histories along.
The loft, which I’m going to refer to as my lair, is smaller than our current apartment, but that exactly what we wanted, something easy to manage so we can enjoy ourselves at home without a list of chores a mile long. It’s an old building that has been completely gutted but has kept the historical charm. Our unit acutely only has one small window but also has a single huge skylight. You can see from the pictures I’m not wanting for light, and its gonna be so cozy a night. Fitting all our stuff is design challenge I can’t wait to tackle, and of course, I’m so excited to fill my new home with books
This is my first place with my boyfriend, Grant. We’ve lived together in my apartment since Dec, and this will be the first time either of us has gotten a place with someone. It’s a crazy time in our lives but we’re glad to have each other to lean on. We’ve been leaning on each other a lot of late, as his health is in a bad spot, another reason I haven’t uploaded. FYI hospitals have terrible wifi. Currently, we have no diagnostics but we’re keeping the faith, and are determined to not let it stop us from starting our lives together. He’s looking forward to healing in our new home.
Life update number two, I’m changing the direction of this blog just a bit. I’ll soon be updated two to four time a week, possibility multiple times a day, instead of zero to one post a week. I’ll also have a less rigid schedule, this just means you might see a writing post on a Monday or Friday, or maybe two a week. You will also see the occasional beauty, style, and food post pop up. I want this lifestyle blog to actually be a lifestyle blog. Which means I have to show you my life as it organically flows. I want to deliver authentic and original content and I can’t do that following an inorganic schedule. So from now, I’m showcasing what real and what’s me. Welcome to my novel home let’s create something.
