Happy 2022 Ya’ll. I’m so happy to welcome in the new year. Thank you for coming back if you are returning and if this is your first time here welcome. It’s so good to have you here, my name is A.V. I’m a writer, décor enthusiast and book lover. Welcome to anovelhome where I share my bookish home projects, my writing journey plus anything and everything I get up to. This year instead or posting my new years resolution I wanted to re-introduce myself and talk about my new home. After years of renting and more roommates than I can count, my husband and I were able to purchase our first home. It was a little wild buying a home during the pandemic, but we got in right before the height of the housing frenzy. It’s been a dream come true, and I love her so much, getting to live here the past year has been amazing and eye opening.
Though I love my new home I’ll be the first to admit there are a ton of projects I have to do before it truly operates and looks like the home I’ve envisioned. There’s some practical things I need to get done, like a new water heater, and new windows, et. Plus an even longer list of cosmetic projects I want to complete. I’m working on a budget and my own timeline for each space but here is an overall mood board of what I what the space to feel like:
I want my home to a bit of drama and a fantastical nature to it. I need to have a bit of magic to it to inspire my writing but I still want it to feel like a getaway when I’m not working. I’m thinking something a like lodge where a writers would feel right at home. A dream cottagecore vacation spot right in my own home, warm, refreshing, and with a sense of magic to it. On a more practical note I also need my house to feel like a reflection of the two, temporary three people who live here. I plan on doing a mood board for each of the spaces I planned on redoing but here is a list of the major projects that are on deck.
- Buy and install and New water Heater
- Buy and install New Windows
- Install a Green House
- Create a Writer’s Retreat in the Bedroom
- Update the storage in the house
- A whole bunch of other stuff
Owning a home has been a life long goal of mine, and to accomplish it before thirty feels like getting the expert score on a video game. I’m proud of myself, and I feel so incredibly blessed and lucky to be in this position and I can’t wait to share and show how my home changes. Thank you so much for reading, and update will be coming soon
