Hey y’all
Three things to start out with. First Happy International women’s day is, hope your is fabulous.Second If you were one of the brave souls that participated in #pitmad yesterday, I’m so proud of you. Congratulations for even getting to that point and good luck moving forward with all of your manuscripts. Last but not least, happy Friday ya’ll, This Friday finds is going to be a little different. Instead of an approach/method, we’ll be chatting about a more physical writing tool. This tool? My bullet journal.
In fact, I’m spending the day editing and preparing for the new month with my bullet journal. I’ve been bullet journaling for on and off for about 3 years. It started as more as an alternative to the traditional planner. I wanted to have a little bit more freedom with my journaling and the bullet journal provided that. In the beginning I found out I was just using it to keep track of my day to day events and work schedule. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer I incorporated more of a journal format into it. It really helped me get out of the the gross ugly emotions that cancer can let loose. The picture above is actually my brain dump from that month. I feel in love with the process. I’m a planner in personality type and writing type so I decided I wanted to combine my love of planning and my love of writing.
I thought incorporating writing into my journal thought would be easy, but it took more than just smashing together my writing schedule in my day today schedule to make this bullet Journal work for me. I had to start from scratch and ask myself what do I want out of this journal? What do I want out of my writing process and what are some concrete goals I can track. And I love the fact that I’m on is a productive and satisfying one.I’ve been using my writing bullet journal for 3 months now, if you found me by Instagram you saw the intro page to my March spread. I’m in love with my writing bullet journal it has given me a guide and really helped me narrow my focus in terms of what I’m trying accomplished and the timeline i would like to do it on.
This is more of a introduction post. In the coming weeks I going to be sharing my bullet journal. I’ll do a flip through here of my bullet Journal kind of showing the differences between a regular bullet journal and a writing centric one and how I use my bullet journal to keep me motivated and on track.
I hope the rest of your day is filled with joy and love and happiness. I look forward to sharing more finds and writing tools. I will be taking a break next week for vacation. I’m going to Comic-Con in Seattle. Till next time create, hustle, and love yourself.
