Writing Wednesday: Writing Community

Finding a writing community

In all things it’s important to feel supported, writing is no different. For my writing its important to have a community who valued literature and reading the way I do.

On one hand I understand any hesitation to share your work with others. Writing can be extremely personal, but to grow as a writer it’s important to get different on your work. So I wanted to share some places where you might be able to find other like minded creatives, to improve your art.

NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Monlth, not only is this a great way to junp start youre novel or project its awesome serves as a social platform to connect with other writers. Check out their site.

Join an in person writing Group. Having one on one, or even having mutlipe eyes look at your work can be invaluable. Check your local library for writing meet ups. If you’re in school see if your institute offers has any writing clubs or meetups.

DIYWC, D.I.Y writing community. Do you know anyone who writes or has a good eye let them look at your paper. Know anyone who loves to read, particularly booms in your genre, have them take a look. Talk out their thoughts with them especially if you value their opinion and especially if they’re in your Market. Do this monthly or weekly, depending where you are in your writing, but if you dont have a retainer of literary homies at your disposal, you can also hustle and…

BYOWC, be your own writing community. Don’t have anyone, but are passionate and serious about getting your work seen. Look into hiring a pro or going to a local campus and asking a graduate student who’s looking to build thier resume. Use social media to connet with creators you admire and respect. Be your self and to the point, reaching out respectivly never hurts. Dont be afriad to put your brand out into the world.

A writer can’t forget to be thoughtful but also supportive of thier own writing, finds ways that you can do that for yourself and you’ll thrive. What are some ways you find support in your craft, tell me in the comments below.
